Service Within the Church
It takes many people to keep our church running smoothly, and so there are many opportunities to serve within the church. Find the area that matches with your interests and talents.
Ad Council
This group oversees all the administrative functions and groups of the church, plans for the overall direction of the church, and reviews special projects. Representatives for committees and groups are members of the council. Meets on the third Thursday of the month.
Worship Committee
This team helps plan and coordinate the worship service with the pastor.
Worship Technology Task Force (WTFF) Tech Team
This team prepares the visual displays for Sunday services and special events, and runs the displays from the booth during services. They maintain our website.
Memorial Committee
This committee works with the families of loved ones to purchase memorials with funds donated in the loved one’s name.
Greeters
Welcome people as they enter the church before services.
Scripture Readers
Read a scripture passage during one of the Sunday services.
Banners
This group meets to plan, create, and hang the banners that hang in our sanctuary. Perfect for you if you like working creatively with fabric and materials.
Finance Committee
This committee meets to review our financial status, budget, and any related matters, on the third Tuesday of each month via Zoom.
Music Committee
There are many musical groups at Our Redeemers. This group helps to coordinate all of them, choose music, and plan special services. Groups include Praise Team, a contemporary music group, chancel choir, a traditional choir, and Joyful Noise, a children’s group. On special occasions, we have Bell Ringers.
Congregational Care & Prayer Ministry Team
The prayer chain is made of individuals who receive emails when congregants ask to have concerns shared so that they may receive the prayers of many. The pastor provides congregational care to those who are undergoing difficulties.
Staff Parish Relations Committee
This human resources committee works as liaison between the staff and the congregation, and is responsible for hiring and other HR issues.
Lay Liturgists
During Sunday services, a lay person helps the pastor with parts of the service, generally offering the greeting, making announcements, reading a Scripture passage, and leading a prayer for the offering. Serve a couple of times per quarter.
Book of Acts
This group provides skits to enhance services, and occasionally a longer play.
Trustees
Trustees oversee the building usage, insurance, and maintenance of the church and parsonage. They meet on the third Tuesday of each month.
Education Committee
This team oversees the educational opportunities in the church, including the Sunday School curriculum and Vacation Bible School.
Connect Ministry Team
Special occasions are planned and implemented by this group that focuses on ways to foster fellowship.
Nominations/Discipleship
This committee is charged with matching members with places to serve that meet their interests and passions. Meets at least quarterly.
Ushers
Help seat people, guide acolytes to light candles, pass acquaintance sheets and offering plates, and pass microphones during services.
Tellers
Volunteers work 1-2 hours to prepare the Sunday offering for deposit into the bank. Work as part of a team. Teams generally serve for three months a year.
Memorial Garden Committee
This is a newly created group working to create a memorial garden and columbarium on church grounds.
